Lohithaswa T.S. is a distinguished Indian actor, theatre artist, and writer, primarily known for his prolific work in Kannada cinema and theatre. Beginning his career as an English professor, he transitioned into acting, first making a significant mark in the Kannada theatre scene, acting in and directing over 50 plays. His deep understanding of literature and stagecraft enriched his performances. He made his film debut in the late 1970s and has since appeared in over 100 films, often portraying authoritative figures like judges, professors, and politicians, as well as nuanced character roles. He is celebrated for his powerful dialogue delivery and versatile acting, earning two Karnataka State Film Awards for Best Supporting Actor. He is also the recipient of the Karnataka Nataka Academy Award for his lifetime contributions to theatre. Lohithaswa T.S. continues to be a respected figure in the South Indian film industry.
