Meher Ramesh is an Indian film director and screenwriter primarily known for his work in Telugu and Kannada cinema. Born and raised in Vijayawada, he completed a diploma in civil engineering before working in Botswana and later popularizing the snooker business in Andhra Pradesh. He began his film career with a supporting role in the 2002 Telugu film Bobby. His directorial debut was the 2004 Kannada film Veera Kannadiga, which was a box office success, while its Telugu counterpart Andhrawala was a commercial failure. He went on to direct films like Ajay (2006) in Kannada and Kantri (2008), Billa (2009), Shakti (2011), Shadow (2013), and Bhola Shankar (2023) in Telugu. Despite some initial success with Billa, many of his films, including Kantri, Shakti, Shadow, and Bhola Shankar, have been noted for their poor critical reception and commercial underperformance.
