Born Mikkilineni Madhavarao in Hyderabad, Mickey J. Meyer showed early musical talent, learning piano and violin. Trained in Carnatic music, he also honed his skills by singing ghazals for All India Radio and pursued formal education at the Trinity College of Music in London. Inspired by the legendary A. R. Rahman, he embarked on a career in music direction. His debut as a composer came with the 2006 film 'Pothe Poni', but it was Sekhar Kammula's 2007 blockbuster 'Happy Days' that proved to be his breakthrough, earning him critical acclaim and awards. He continued to compose for numerous successful Telugu films, establishing a signature style of melodious and youthful music. Over the years, he has garnered multiple Filmfare and Nandi Awards for his exceptional work on films like 'Kotha Bangaru Lokam', 'A Aa', and 'Mahanati', showcasing his versatility across genres, from romantic dramas to period films and action entertainers. He is also recognized for his impactful background scores and collaborations with prominent singers and lyricists in the Telugu film industry.
