Akkineni Nagarjuna is an acclaimed Tollywood actor and producer, known for redefining style and substance in South Indian cinema. Born on August 29, 1959, in Madras (now Chennai), India, he is the son of legendary Telugu actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), one of the founding figures of the industry. Over the decades, Nagarjuna has captivated audiences with memorable performances in blockbusters like Shiva and Manam, earning a reputation for both his on-screen charisma and off-screen elegance.
Few fans realize that behind the star persona lies a strong academic background—Nagarjuna holds a Master’s degree in Automobile Engineering from the University of Michigan, USA. Before dedicating himself fully to cinema, he even considered pursuing an engineering career abroad. His sharp intellect and rich cinematic heritage have been instrumental in his leadership of Annapurna Studios and in founding the Annapurna College of Film and Media, a hub for nurturing the next generation of Indian filmmakers.
