Katragadda Murari (also known as K. Murari) was an influential Indian film producer primarily active in Telugu cinema. Born on June 14, 1944, in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, he famously dropped out of his final year of M.B.B.S. at Kakatiya Medical College to pursue his passion for cinema. He began his career as an assistant director in Madras before establishing his own acclaimed production company, Yuva Chithra Arts. Under this banner, he produced a series of notable Telugu films from the mid-1980s to the early 2000s, all distinguished by the music of K. V. Mahadevan. Beyond his filmmaking endeavors, Murari was a respected author, having published his autobiography 'Navvi Podurugaaka' in 2012, and an editor of the significant historical work 'Telugu Chalanachitra Nirmatala Charitra (1931-2005)'.
