About

Dhina, born on January 15, 1966, is an Indian music director and composer primarily working in Tamil film and television industries. His career began as an assistant musician to G. K. Venkatesh and later as a music conductor for Maestro Ilaiyaraaja, which laid a strong foundation for his musical journey. He rose to prominence by composing widely popular title tracks for numerous television serials, most notably 'Chitthi' (1999), which became a cultural phenomenon. His success in television paved the way for his debut as a film music director with 'Middle Class Madhavan' in 2001. Since then, he has composed music for over 20 films across Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada languages. Dhina was honored with the prestigious Kalaimamani award by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2021 for his contributions to the arts. Beyond his musical career, he has also ventured into acting and politics, having joined the Amma Makkal Munetra Kazhagam and later the BJP, where he serves as the state chief of the Overseas and other states Tamil development wing.
