About

Ghibran Vaibodha, born Mohammed Ghibran, is an Indian composer celebrated for his significant contributions to Tamil and Telugu cinema. His musical journey began after he was inspired by Yanni at a young age. Despite early financial challenges that forced him to discontinue formal education, he pursued music, learning keyboard from Paul Augustine and completing RSA Grade 8 in piano and music theory from Trinity College London. He further honed his skills in classical composition and film scoring at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. Before entering films, Ghibran established his own studio in 2000, composing for over 700 advertisements. His breakthrough in films came with the Tamil movie 'Vaagai Sooda Vaa' (2011), which garnered critical acclaim for its music. He quickly rose to prominence, becoming a sought-after composer known for his versatility and strong background scores. His collaborations with prominent directors like Kamal Haasan (Vishwaroopam II, Uttama Villain, Papanasam) and H. Vinoth (Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru) have been particularly notable, solidifying his position as a leading music director in South Indian cinema. Ghibran currently operates studios in Chennai, Mumbai, and Singapore.
