Shiva Nageswara Rao is an Indian film director and screenwriter predominantly known for his work in Telugu cinema, particularly in the comedy genre. Born in Uppalapadu near Guntur, he developed a fascination for films from a young age and graduated from Hindu College in Guntur. He ventured into the Telugu film industry in 1979, initially acting as a junior artist in films like 'Burripalem Bullodu' (1979) and 'Sannayi Appanna' (1980). He transitioned into assistant directing, working under notable filmmakers like Vijaya Nirmala, Lenin Babu, V. Madhusudhana Rao, S. A. Chandrasekhar, and Kranthi Kumar. His collaboration with Ram Gopal Varma began during the making of 'Rao Gaari Illu' (1988), leading to his directorial debut, 'Money' (1993), produced by Ram Gopal Varma. He is recognized for directing several comedic films such as 'Money Money' (1994), 'Sisindri' (1995), 'Hands Up!' (2000), and 'Mr & Mrs Sailaja Krishnamurthy' (2004).
