Shiva Sundar Shrestha, professionally known as Shiva Shrestha, is a prominent Nepali actor, widely recognized as the 'Action King' of Nepali cinema. He debuted in Nepali cinema with 'Jeevan Rekha' in 1982 and in Pakistani (Lollywood) cinema with 'Humse Hai Zamana' in 1985. Throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s, he delivered numerous commercially successful films including 'Kanchi', 'Chino', 'Manakamana', 'Dharma Sankat', and 'Thuldai', earning him the status of the 'second pillar' of the Nepali film industry. He has also starred in over a dozen Urdu films, with seven being significant commercial successes. Known for his action and dancing skills, he made a comeback to Nepali cinema in 2016 with 'Bagmati' and has expressed a desire to continue acting as long as he lives. Beyond acting, Shrestha is involved in social services and is a devotee of Sai Baba. He has received multiple Lifetime Achievement and Contribution awards for his significant impact on the film industry.
